Terrific zombie comedy! Gory action for the guys, romantic comedy forthe girls...something for everyone. If you liked Shaun of the Dead,you'll like Deadheads even better. The chemistry and timing between thelead actors is what makes this film special. Mike (Michael McKiddy) andBrent (Ross Kidder-so funny!) are the Abbott and Costello of zombiemovies, while Markus Taylor is excellent as Cheese, a "zombified"Lenny-like character in Of Mice and Men. The trio meet during a failedzombie experiment and travel across country to find Mike's oldgirlfriend and love of his life. It has great horror action scenes,smart humor, and heart. A real fun ride!

Deadheads is both a zombie movie and a love story about two zombies whogo on a cross-country road trip to reconnect with a girlfriend fromtheir waking life. It is far better than one might expect from thepremise.
I am not particularly interested in zombie movies so I was pleased tofind that Deadheads had characters with very human motivations; severaltimes during the film I found myself caring for Michael McKiddy'scharacter, despite his zombie appearance.
One great thing about the film is its self-awareness. The directors,and actors know they are making a zombie love story, and they embracethe ridiculousness of that fact completely. The movie is all aboutfun--there are many pop-culture references, references to other movies,and a lot of extremely vulgar humor and absurd situations that couldonly happen in an independent film. There is however, just enoughsentimentality to keep it human and down to earth. In other words, ifyou make your girlfriend watch only one zombie movie this year, makethis the one--it has enough echoes of romantic comedy to appeal to alarger audience. With that said, I am confident I am the targetdemographic: a male who grew up loving 80's movies.
There are several scenes that seem a little too long but overall thepacing is good, the action is exciting, and the length felt right.Deadheads is not going to change the world. But if you have an interestin humor, gore, and want to be entertained for an hour and a half it isworth your time.

I had to write a short review of this. Some of the top reviews of thismovie is obviously made by someone affiliated with the movie in someway.
The movie is mildly entertaining. The plot is the main guy that wantsto declare his love for his old girlfriend. The side-story is about anold guy who wants to spread his dead wife's ashes by some shore orother. The side-plot isn't executed very successfully. The acting isOK, although the side-kick gets to be annoying.
I was hoping for a few laughs, but I didn't laugh once in the course ofthis movie. It was a bit funny at times. So I smiled, and that's it.
If you have nothing else to do, or if you REALLY like zombie-themedmovies by all means see it. You're not gonna walk away very satisfiedthough.
I managed to sit though it's entirety. I'm starting to think that Ishould have spent it sleeping instead.
